INBOX)344096The weather looks to be perfect tonight for all the trick or treaters who will be out in droves looking to collect some loot, But that is just the adults, the kids will also be out, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. The kids will be excited and will not always take care when crossing streets, so it is up to you big Halloweeners to look out for them.

We were down in our old neighbourhood yesterday, and I was amazed at the amount of decoration that the residents had out on their yards, Nearly every yard in the area had tombstones, spiders, spooks and a whole lot more. I can’t imagine what it will look like at night when it is all lit up! Scary maybe?

After all the years I have been using a computer, I just found out about a quick way to burn a cd or a DVD. Place a shortcut on your desktop, and drag the folder that you wish to burn to the shortcut, your burner will open and you are all set to complete the job. Cool trick! Learn something new every day!

If you have any CD music discs floating around that you enjoy, try copying them into your computer, and playing them back through your computer. You can use earphones if you like or speakers. Copying can be done using the program provided by Microsoft Windows Media Player. With it you can copy (rip) only the music you want, and compress it to take up less space on your hard drive. You can compress using either WMA (Windows Media Audio) or MP3 format when you rip a track. The Windows Media Player shows you how. Then play it back through Windows Medial Player.

I am having a hard time reading about all the folks who have such finely honed wisdom that they can be so sure of themselves when they forecast the future of our Province. First of all the people elected our left wing government with a big majority, when they turfed out a conservative party that had promised the moon for 44 years, and reneged on just about all promises.  I think I even heard that if they were elected again, I was going to grow taller by a couple of inches, and maybe even grow hair. That would be something I could get into if it were true!

Anyway the upshot to all this was that our highways were suffering badly, as was our health care, and education. The province was growing by leaps and bounds and our medical services, particularly with respect to cancer care, and our schools were lagging far behind the growth. The people said enough, and tried out a leftist party with a large majority, and they have set about doing the things the other guys have promised for years and never delivered on.

So, here we are with all these people acting like they are wiser than a tree full of owls, forecasting gloom and doom at the hands of the NDP.

Naomi Lakritz who nearly always writes one of the best columns in the Calgary Herald, came up with a good one today, and if you don’t get the Herald, you can take a peek right here. Naomi Lakritz

It ends tonight, so be sure to set your clocks back 1 hour tonight. Remember the old adage “Spring Ahead, Fall Back”.

We can believe what we choose. We are answerable for what we choose to believe. - John Henry Newman

I have a couple of these today, the first is one that I got from a friend, and when I checked it out on Google, it had been altered in many ways, but was very unlike the original. I am using the original one with a few updates and corrections written by the author. Very good piece to make you think of the world around us. The Old Jarhead

If you are Catholic or know a Catholic you’ll appreciate this. Pope Francis recently finished his sermon. He ended it with the Latin phrase, "Tuti Homini" – Blessed be Mankind…

A Woman’s Rights Group approached the Pope the next day. They noticed that the Pope blessed all Mankind, but not Womankind.

So the next day, after his sermon, the Pope concluded by saying,

"Tuti Homini, et Tuti Femini" – Blessed be Mankind and Womankind.

The day after, a Gay Rights Group approached the Pope. They said that they noticed that he blessed Mankind and Womankind and asked if he could also bless gay people. The Pope said, "Sure."

The next day the Pope concluded his sermon with, "Tuti Homini, et Tuti Femini, et Tuti Fruiti."

Have a great day and Halloween, but be nice to each other.
