In case you missed it, one of our past residents who moved away when it was no longer feasible for her to live alone, has died. Norma Lyons was 90, and had suffered for many, many years with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). She moved into Dreamview in 1997, into phase 1 apartments, as one of our first residents. Her husband Pat, died in 2003. All of us that knew her, were aware of the years of health problems, but that she was always upbeat, and a fighter. Our condolences to the family. May she rest in Peace.
Today is the twelfth of September, and some of our residents have taken it upon themselves to put on a coffee party at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 14. Sounds great to me, I’m gonna be there! Thank you to who decided that this was necessary.
QUOTE OF THE DAY!
In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.
PLAYING CHICKEN – NAVY STYLE
The chief of US Naval Operations has released the following transcript of a radio conversation between a US Navy ship and the Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October of 1995.
US Ship: Please divert your course 0.5 degrees south to avoid a collision.
Canadian reply: Recommend you divert your course 15° north to avoid a collision
US Ship: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert your course.
Canadians: No. I say again, you divert your course.
US Ship: This is the Captain of the aircraft carrier USS Lexington, one of the most powerful ships in the world. Divert your course now!
Canadians: This is a lighthouse….it’s your call!
Have a Great Day!
